Job summary

Permasteelisa Gartner Retail is seeking a Lead Concept Designer to drive differentiated project strategies and ensure design excellence across sales, tendering, CAS and PCS engagements. You’ll work closely with the Global Retail Design and Business Development Director to steer early-stage projects and de-risk complex builds before execution.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of façade construction and several years’ experience in the façade industry.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to connect with clients and teams.
• Ability to translate client requirements into strategy for sales, tender and design teams.
• Willingness to travel and work internationally.

Job description

As Lead Concept Designer (LCD), you drive winning, highly differentiated project strategies and enforce technical design excellence across all sales, tendering, Concept Assist Services (CAS), and Pre-Construction Services (PCS) engagements. Working closely with the Global Retail Design and Business Development Director, you serve as the primary authority for steering early-stage projects—de-risking complex builds across design, engineering, constructability, procurement, cost optimization, quality control, logistics, and prototyping prior to project execution.

What qualities and competencies are needed?

• Technical knowledge of façade construction and several years’ experience in the façade industry (e.g. as a project manager, design manager or consultant).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an aptitude for connecting with people.
• Ability to use analytical skills to advise clients and translate their requirements into a strategy for the sales, tender and design team to follow.
• Ability to identify market trends and innovations at an early stage.
• Material and manufacturing specialist.
• Ability to lead multiple projects and teams.
• Enthusiasm for working internationally and travel.
• Proficiency in English – Mandarin and Cantonese is an advantage.
• Your own network within the façade market would be an advantage.
