Job summary

A reputable facade specialist in Hong Kong is seeking a Facade Designer to Design Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage high-profile projects while developing technical solutions and supervising junior staff. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years' experience in curtain wall and window wall design and must be proficient in AutoCAD. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in curtain wall/window wall design and drafting.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory capacity and able to work independently.
• Experience in developing curtain wall details from architectural drawings independently.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate works with Draftsman(s) and report to the Chief Designer.
• Develop design drawings from 'Tender and/or Design Intent'.
• Ensure all drawings meet Contracts/Architects requirements.
• Verify Curtain Wall fixing details with structural layout.
• Prepare Curtain Wall detail for engineering calculations.
• Obtain approval from Client/Architect and organize submissions.
• Ensure all drawings to Client are checked and logged.
• Issue all construction drawings to Projects Team.
• Maintain proper filing record of drawing transmittal and correspondence.

Responsibilities:

• To supervise and co-ordinate the works with Draftsman(s) and report to the Chief Designer on various aspects of the project.
• To develop design drawings from 'Tender and/or Design Intent' with the help of the Designer(s).
• To ensure that all drawings submission can fulfill the Contracts / Architects requirements.
• To verify the Curtain Wall fixing details with structural layout / details.
• To prepare Curtain Wall detail for engineering calculations.
• To obtain approval from the Client / Architect and organize submission for the Building Department.
• To ensure all drawings issued to the Client or inter-office are checked and logged.
• To issue all construction drawings to Projects Team.
• To maintain proper filing record of drawing transmittal and project correspondence.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Certificate in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in curtain wall / window wall design and drafting.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory capacity and able to work independently.
• Familiar with 3D and AutoCAD is a must.
• Ability to propose any design and technical solutions.
• Ability to supervise a group of junior staff and must be a good team player.
• Experience in developing of curtain wall details from architectural drawings independently
