Job summary

PFCC Group is seeking a Lead AI Developer in Hong Kong to drive AI solutions from prototype to production. You will lead a team of AI engineers, develop AI applications using RAG, AI agents, and workflows, and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI systems.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on Python/SQL, and experience with modern AI tooling and cloud platforms. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years in AI/engineering, data science, or related field.
• Proven experience delivering RAG or AI applications.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Hands-on Python and SQL programming.
• Experience with LLMs, AI orchestration, and vector DBs (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Milvus, Elasticsearch, Qdrant).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud.
• Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD a plus.
• Web app development with React/Next.js/TypeScript is a plus.
• Financial services or large-scale enterprise experience preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Our client, a leading financial institution, is expanding its Digital, Data & Technology team and is seeking a Lead AI Developer to drive the development and delivery of AI solutions across the organisation.

The role is an amazing opportunity where you will lead a team of AI Engineers in building and scaling AI applications, including RAG, AI agents, and workflow-based solutions, from prototype through to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of AI applications using technologies such as RAG, AI agents, and AI workflows.
• Take AI solutions from prototyping through testing, evaluation, and production across the full SDLC.
• Develop services and integrate internal/external APIs and MCPs to support AI applications.
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Platform Engineers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AI Engineers while overseeing multiple AI projects, timelines, and deliverables.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to apply them to business challenges and enterprise use cases.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering RAG or other AI applications is essential.
• Strong experience in team leadership and mentoring.
• Hands-on programming experience, particularly with Python and SQL.
• Experience with LLMs, AI orchestration, and vector databases such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Milvus, Elasticsearch, or Qdrant.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud.
• Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD is an advantage.
• Experience with web application development using technologies such as React, Next.js, or TypeScript is a plus.
• Financial services or large-scale enterprise experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to turn business problems into practical AI solutions.
