Cantab Star Education Limited is seeking a junior finance professional to join our Hong Kong team. You will support budgeting, expense monitoring, and record keeping while gaining exposure to reporting and analysis for partnerships with schools, corporates, and other partners.

You will be a core member of our finance team, supporting the budgeting and partnership finance work that keeps the business running smoothly. The role combines hands-on financial operations, such as budget tracking, expense monitoring, and record keeping, with growing exposure to reporting and analysis that informs how we work with schools, corporates, and other partners. You will work closely with senior finance colleagues and cross-functional teams, and take on more analytical responsibility as you build experience.
Maintain budget trackers across teams and programs, updating actual spend against plan and flagging variances.
Monitor day-to-day expenses, identify items that are unusual, over budget, or lack supporting documentation, and follow up to resolve them.
Prepare monthly variance summaries and help explain the drivers behind key movements to team leads.
Review invoices and receipts for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing.
Follow up with colleagues and vendors on missing documents, incorrect amounts, or incomplete approvals.
Maintain organised, audit-ready financial records and filing systems, and help strengthen documentation standards over time.
Assist in compiling monthly financial reports, forecasts, and dashboards for senior management by gathering data, reconciling figures, and preparing clear outputs.
Prepare cost summaries and basic profitability snapshots for programs and partnerships, and highlight trends worth attention.
Prepare and organise finance documentation for school, corporate, and other partner arrangements, including cost breakdowns, payment schedules, and invoicing records.
Track partner payments and receivables, flag overdue or mismatched items, and support the team in following up.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, FP&A, or a related field is preferred.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail, with the patience to check documents carefully and reconcile figures accurately.
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (formulas, lookups, pivot tables); exposure to financial modelling or BI tools is a plus.
Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple deadlines and keep records in good order in a fast-moving startup environment.
Clear communicator who can follow up confidently with colleagues across teams and explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Genuine interest in how an education business manages its finances and grows sustainably.
Proficient in written and verbal Chinese & English.
