Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced IT System Engineer to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and cybersecurity environment in Hong Kong. The role requires hands-on server and system administration across Windows Server, Linux, and macOS, with AD, GPO, and network skills.

You will manage day-to-day operations, monitor systems, and help with security, backups, and documentation. Collaboration with vendors and potential web development tasks are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/CE or related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on IT experience.
• Hands-on with server infrastructure and cybersecurity.
• Experience in system administration and network support.
• Experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, switches/routers.
• Experience with data backup and recovery.
• Strong cybersecurity principles and vulnerability management.
• Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical support to users and liaise with external IT vendors.
• Assist with web development and website/system maintenance.
• Maintain technical documentation and IT operational procedures.

We are looking for an experienced IT System Engineer to support and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and cybersecurity environment. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in server and system administration, network support, Active Directory, backup solutions, and multiple operating systems, with some exposure to web development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments.

Perform day-to-day system administration, server monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting.

Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, access control, and Group Policy.

Support and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, switches, routers, and firewalls.

Monitor IT infrastructure and implement appropriate cybersecurity and system security measures to protect systems and data.

Support security-related activities such as access management, vulnerability remediation, patch management, endpoint protection, and incident troubleshooting.

Manage and monitor data backup and recovery processes, ensuring critical business data is properly protected.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, server, network, and connectivity issues.

Support system upgrades, migrations, installations, configurations, and infrastructure enhancement projects.

Provide technical support to users and work with external IT vendors and service providers when required.

Assist with web development and website/system maintenance where required.

Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, inventory, and IT operational procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

3-6 years of relevant IT experience, with hands-on exposure to server infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Solid experience in system administration and network support.

Hands-on knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments.

Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, and permissions.

Good understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, switches, and routers.

Practical experience with data backup, recovery, and system security.

Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, including system hardening, access control, patching, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve technical issues.

Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
