Job summary

KOS International Limited in Hong Kong seeks an experienced IT Manager to own the development and operation of high-traffic public-facing websites and digital platforms. This hands-on, individual contributor role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in web applications, digital platforms or high-traffic environments.
• Proven experience managing public-facing websites.
• Strong vendor management and IT project management experience.
• Knowledge of web app architecture, APIs, databases, cloud/hosting, monitoring and security.
• Experience with CMS integration, CRM, DAM, search engines and analytics tools.
• Able to review vendor proposals on architecture, delivery and risks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ongoing enhancement, maintenance and roadmap of high-traffic web platforms.
• Review vendor technical solutions, manage project deliverables and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee performance, availability, scalability, security, monitoring and incident resolution.
• Coordinate website development, testing, deployment and post-go-live support.
• Manage external vendors, SLAs, contracts and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Digital and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support integration between CMS platforms and APIs, CRM, DAM, search, analytics and other platforms.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, automation, analytics and digital customer experience.
• Explore new technologies including AI/Agentic AI where relevant.

Job Overview

Our client is a well-known enterprise in Hong Kong and they are seeking a technically strong and commercially minded IT Manager to take ownership of the ongoing enhancement, reliability, performance and future development of its key public-facing web platforms. This is a hands-on individual contributor position. The successful candidate will serve as the internal technical owner for high-traffic, customer-facing websites and digital platforms, working closely with external development and infrastructure vendors while partnering with internal Marketing, Digital and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the ongoing enhancement, maintenance and technical roadmap of high-traffic web platforms.
• Review vendor technical solutions, manage project deliverables, and ensure work is delivered on time and to the required standard.
• Oversee web platform performance, availability, scalability, security, monitoring and incident resolution.
• Coordinate website development, system enhancement, testing, deployment and post-go-live support.
• Manage external vendors, including service delivery, SLAs, contracts, technical documentation and regular performance reviews.
• Work with Marketing, Digital and business users to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Support integration between CMS platforms and APIs, CRM, DAM, search, analytics and other third-party platforms.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, automation, analytics and digital customer experience.
• Explore new technologies, including AI/Agentic AI, where relevant to web-platform operations and digital services.

Key Requirements

• Degree's holder in Computer Science, Information Management or other related disciplines.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience, preferably in web applications, digital platforms, online services, e-commerce or other high-traffic environments.
• Proven experience managing public-facing, business-critical or high-traffic websites.
• Strong vendor management and IT project management experience.
• Sound technical knowledge of web application architecture, back-end systems, APIs, databases, cloud/hosting infrastructure, monitoring and security.
• Experience with CMS integration, CRM, DAM, search engines, analytics tools or digital marketing platforms.
• Able to review technical proposals and challenge vendors on architecture, delivery approach, performance and technical risks.
• Exposure to cloud, CDN, web performance optimisation, DevOps/CI-CD, cyber security or AI solutions is an advantage.
• Independent, proactive and comfortable working as the key internal technology owner.
• Strong communication skills and able to work effectively with business users and technical vendors.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; Cantonese is essential.
