Job summary

The Career Works Limited is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist - Database Administrator for a large commercial bank. The role focuses on database management, upgrades, automation, and reliability across production environments.

You will oversee database operations, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and ensure robust backup/recovery strategies while supporting non-office hour issues as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in supporting database.
• Familiar with shell scripting is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Able to manage vendors for project implementations and BAU supports
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Able to work or support production issue during non-office hours

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, configure and administrate database.
• Perform database upgrade, patching and administration.
• Automate patching, capacity monitoring and configuration management.
• Improve data backup and recovery management.
• Assist to evaluate and standardize database software.
• Assist to plan the enhancement and refreshment of related technology infrastructure.
• Support for upgrade and migration projects like DB upgrade and migration.
• Enforce and execute problem and change management procedures.
• Support the Disaster Recovery Strategy.
• Provide 3rd level of support for problem resolution from outsourcing vendors.
• Act as infrastructure focal point to support the implementation of business application systems.
• Database backup policy setting and execution.

IT Infrastructure Specialist - Database Administrator

Our client a large commercial bank is looking to hire an IT infrastructure Specialist - Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, configure and administrate database.

Perform database upgrade, patching and administration

Evaluate and implement automation to improve the patching, capacity monitoring, configuration management and data backup/recovery management

Assist to evaluate and standardize database software.

Assist to plan the enhancement and refreshment of related technology infrastructure.

Support for upgrade and migration project like DB upgrade and migration.

Enforce and execute problem and change management procedures.

Support the Disaster Recovery Strategy.

Provide 3rd level of support for problem resolution in case escalated from outsourcing vendors.

Act as infrastructure focal point to support the implementation of business application systems.

Database Backup Policy setting and execution.

Job Specifications
