Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; master's degree an advantage.
• Some exposure through internships or initial work experience; no prior audit experience required.
• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity and problem-solving, with ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
• Excellent written and spoken English with clear communication across stakeholders.
• Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Experience in international or multicultural environments is valued.
• Interest in technology and data analytics; familiarity with Python or AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the team reviewing BBVA’s CIB activities across Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo.
• Assist with executing and documenting audit work and operational follow-up.
• Participate in analysis and process-improvement initiatives, receiving guidance while building understanding of banking activities.

The Area

Internal Audit is an independent global function that provides a unique, cross‑business perspective on how BBVA operates. Beyond traditional assurance and compliance checks, our work involves understanding different businesses, challenging existing practices, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement, and providing meaningful insights that help strengthen the bank's governance and performance. Working across a wide range of activities and geographies, the team also explores how data analytics, AI and new technologies can make audit work more effective.

The Role

Based in Hong Kong, you will support the team reviewing BBVA’s CIB activities across Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo. Working closely with experienced Audit Managers, you will help execute and document audit work, assist with operational follow‑up and participate in selected analysis and process‑improvement initiatives. You will receive guidance and feedback while progressively building an understanding of different banking activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Management Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics or related disciplines; a master's degree is an advantage.
• Some previous professional exposure, through internships or initial work experience,preferably in banking, consulting or other business‑related environments. No prior audit experience is necessary.
• Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar topics and approach challenges with common sense and initiative.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different stakeholders.
• Fluency in spoken Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Previous exposure to international or multicultural environments is highly valued, together with an open‑minded attitude and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• An interest in technology and new ways of working; familiarity with data analytics, automation, Python or AI tools is a plus.
