Job summary

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong seeks a senior HR professional to lead a unit handling manpower planning, pay review, recruitment and staff discipline.

The role requires a degree in HR management, strong English and Chinese, and at least four years of post‑qualification experience; a 3-year contract with MPF, medical and training sponsorships awaits the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• A recognized degree or equivalent, preferably in human resources management.
• English and Chinese language proficiency, HKCEE level D in English and Chinese or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in HR management or public administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a unit to manage corporate human resources matters including manpower planning, pay review, recruitment and appointments, and staff discipline.
• Oversee policy and administration matters as well as pay review exercises pertaining to market-driven pay systems.
• Develop and implement HR policies to meet corporate objectives and service needs.
• Review personnel administration systems and procedures; handle ad hoc projects as needed.
• Provide executive support to the secretarial office of the HR Committee.
• Plan and deliver projects and initiatives for promotion of employer’s brand image.
• Coordinate cross-unit regular/annual exercises and prepare final returns for management endorsement.

Job description

• Lead a unit to manage the corporate human resources matters including manpower planning, pay review, recruitment and appointment as well as staff discipline and complaints;
• responsible for the policy and administration matters as well as pay review exercises pertaining to the market driven pay systems in Tung Wah;
• develop and implement human resources policies to meet the corporate objectives and service needs;
• undertake regular review of personnel administration system and procedures as well as assigned ad hoc projects/tasks to cope with changing needs;
• provide executive support to the secretarial office of the Human Resources Committee;
• plan and deliver projects and initiatives for promotion of employer’s brand image; and
• manage cross-units regular/annual exercises by planning, scheduling and initiation of recommendation/compilation of the final returns for endorsement by the management.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

• A recognized degree or equivalent, preferably in human resources management;
• at least Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the HKCEE or equivalent;
• at least 4 years of post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in human resources management/public administration;
• proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably in Putonghua; and
• good communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
