Job summary

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is seeking a dynamic, high-calibre Human Resources professional to join our team in Hong Kong.

You will provide professional advice on global HR functions, manage cross-country compensation processes, staff relations, and HR policy initiatives. Candidates should have at least 12 years of HR experience with broad exposure across multiple functions and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

  • University graduate or equivalent; preferred in HR Management, Business Administration or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ HR experience across multiple functions, including compensation & benefits, performance management and employee relations.
  • Experience supporting global or regional HR operations preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with different levels of staff.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese; strong integrity and meticulous work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice and support on a full spectrum of global HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance and reward management, employee relations, and HR initiatives.
  • Assist in managing cross-country compensation-related processes, including market benchmarking, annual pay trend review, and promotion exercises.
  • Manage staff cases, including employee relations and case management, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
  • Support supervisor in formulating, reviewing and implementing HR policies, ensuring alignment with goals and statutory requirements.
  • Take lead in HR projects and initiatives as assigned by supervisor.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade. With 51 offices globally, including 13 in the Chinese Mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub.

The HKTDC organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets. The HKTDC also provides up-to-date market insights and product information via research reports and digital news channels.

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary in 2026 and begin a new three-year business cycle, our mission remains as strong as ever to help Hong Kong thrive in trade and businesses succeed in the ever-changing landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional advice and support on a full spectrum of global HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance and reward management, employee relations, and HR initiatives;
  • Assist in managing cross countries compensation-related processes, including market benchmarking, annual pay trend review, and promotion exercises;
  • Manage staff cases, including employee relations and case management, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes;
  • Support supervisor in the formulation, review and implementation of HR policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, statutory requirements and best practices;
  • Take lead in HR projects and initiatives as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • University graduate or equivalent, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 12 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably gained from sizable organisations. The ideal candidate should have broad exposure across multiple HR functions, including compensation & benefits management, performance management and employee relations;
  • Experience in supporting global or regional HR operations preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with different levels of employees;
  • Resourceful and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision;
  • Strong work ethics with high degree of integrity;
  • Service-oriented, attentive to details with a "can-do" attitude;
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for Assistant Manager, Human Resources.

Remuneration and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
