  • Experience with a US-based parent company and managing a team is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Advise regional leaders on performance, coaching and talent development.
  • Own monthly payroll changes for HK and SG with payroll team.

Role Overview

Verition is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist who has expertise in managing the Human Resources function for our Hong Kong and Singapore offices, currently supporting a population of 70 employees across investment and non-investment functions. This is a standalone regional role with two direct reports (the Hong Kong and Singapore Office Assistants). You will be the Senior Human Resources presence on the ground in Asia, operating with a high degree of autonomy and partnering closely with the Human Resources team in London. The role suits someone who is confident advising stakeholders independently and comfortable holding difficult conversations. While the title is Human Resources Business Partner, this is a full generalist remit. Alongside the advisory work you will also need to handle operational detail, including visa and work permit applications, payroll inputs and benefit administration. There is no Human Resources administrator in the region, however you will have assistance from the UK team.

Responsibilities
Employee Relations
  • Act as first point of contact for all employee relations matters in the region, managing issues to resolution independently and escalating only where genuinely required.
  • Manage the end-to-end exit process, including preparing termination rationale and documentation, delivering termination discussions alongside the relevant business leader, and handling probationary and performance-related exits.
  • Advise the business on notice, garden leave, post-termination restrictions, working with Payroll and Legal on execution.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records and provide regular updates to the HR Director.
Business Partnering
  • Act as a trusted advisor to regional business leaders on people matters.
  • Facilitate the regional performance management cycle, including mid-year and year-end reviews, goal setting, talent calibration and development planning.
  • Coach managers on performance, conduct and capability issues.
  • Partner with the London-based Human Resources Director and the global Human Resources team on Firm-wide initiatives, ensuring regional practice remains aligned to global standards.
HR Operations, Payroll and Benefits
  • Own the monthly payroll changes for Hong Kong and Singapore in conjunction with the payroll team.
  • Administer and review regional benefits, managing broker and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain data integrity in Workday and produce regional Human Resources analytics and headcount reporting.
  • Own regional offboarding end to end and exit administration.
  • Assist to prepare and submit employment visa and work permit applications, including Hong Kong employment visas and Singapore Employment Passes, together with dependent applications, renewals, cancellations, and quota monitoring, liaising with the global Immigration specialists as required.
  • Support global relocations, internal transfers and short-term assignments alongside the global Human Resources and Legal teams.
  • Own and approve budgets for office events.
  • Manage the Office Assistants in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years Human Resources experience, with previous financial services experience preferred.
  • University degree Human Resources or another related field.
  • Deep competence in core Human Resources areas, including regional employment laws and Human Resources related regulatory and compliance procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and a keen attention to detail.
