Job summary

Gough Recruitment presents an opportunity to lead the delivery and customer solutions for a premier data centre developer in Hong Kong. You will own end-to-end delivery, act as the customer's technical counterpart, and help establish operating capability from the ground up.

Initially you will serve as the customer conduit, ensuring specifications, deliverables, and commercial terms stay aligned as the solution evolves.

Qualifications

• Experience with data centre power, cooling, and critical infrastructure.
• Delivery of complex data centre programmes from concept to handover.
• Interfacing with hyperscalers on specs, solutions, and contracts.
• Strong negotiation skills and cross-functional leadership under pressure.
• APAC delivery experience is preferred.

Head of Data Centre Delivery & Customer Solutions

Location - Hong Kong

We are working with a leading data centre developer and operator with a growing footprint across Asia Pacific.

They are recruiting a leader to own end-to-end delivery, act as the customer’s technical counterpart, and establish their operating capability from the ground up.

Initially, you will operate as the customer conduit - ensuring that technical specifications, project deliverables, and commercial agreements remain aligned as the solution evolves.

Longer term, you will own the stewardship of the facility, the customer relationship, and their Hong Kong operating standards.

There is scope for development, as this role will eventually oversee multiple locations, potentially across the region.

What You Will Do

• You will act as the technical and commercial anchor across the full lifecycle of data centre developments, from fit-out through to ongoing operations.
• You will establish delivery governance while ensuring the hyperscale tenant’s requirements remain aligned with commercial and contractual outcomes.
• Be the primary technical and commercial interface to the hyperscale tenant. Negotiate specs, manage scope changes, and ensure contract integrity.
• Act as the conduit between leasing, development, construction, and commercial teams. Capture and assess all scope changes before they hit the contract or timeline.
• Drive technical decisions across electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Ensure designs are sound, scalable, and aligned with customer reliability requirements.
• Assume responsibility for operational performance, customer SLA compliance, and the facility’s long term governance framework.
• Manage the hyperscale customer relationship and FM vendor, ensuring seamless operational handover and contractual compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Hyperscale or global colo operator background, particularly in APAC delivery, programme management, or customer facing technical roles.
• Technical depth, degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with hands-on expertise in data centre power, cooling, and critical infrastructure.
• Delivery track record, managed complex data centre programmes from concept through to operations and handover.
• Customer interface experience, direct exposure interfacing with hyperscalers on technical specs, solution design, and contract scope. Strong negotiation skills.
• Commercial technical hybrid, able to translate technical decisions into timeline, cost, and contract implications.
• Cross functional leadership, can align construction, leasing, development, finance, and engineering teams under pressure.
