Job summary

Hong Kong Trade Development Council is seeking a dynamic Training & Development Section Head to steer learning initiatives across its global offices in support of continual operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has a university degree with at least 15 years’ experience in L&D, including 5 years in a management role, and a proven track record in curricula design, digital learning, and staff engagement. Fluency in English and Chinese is essential.

Qualifications

• University graduate with extensive experience in learning and development, including managerial responsibilities.
• Proven ability to design and implement learning programs and curricula.
• Experience with modern methodologies and technologies to enhance L&D practices.
• Experience driving staff engagement initiatives with strong project management and organisational skills.
• Strong leadership, proactivity, collaboration and communication abilities.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Training and Development team across global offices to drive operations excellence and foster continuous learning.
• Identify skill gaps and future capability needs with stakeholders and provide training solutions.
• Develop and evaluate structured learning frameworks addressing employees' career-stage learning needs.
• Incorporate digital tools and methodologies to facilitate effective learning experiences and outcomes.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives to strengthen culture and commitment.
• Stay abreast of market practices, learning trends and technologies and advise the Head of Human Resources.
• Handle ad-hoc initiatives and projects as assigned.
