Job summary

FortisHill Consulting in Hong Kong seeks a highly motivated Data Scientist to join its Data & AI team in Asia. You will design, develop and deploy ML models using Python, and work on Generative AI, data engineering, and governance initiatives to deliver measurable business value.

The role requires 4+ years in data science/ML, strong Python skills with TensorFlow and PyTorch, and familiarity with SQL, Spark, Airflow, Git and cloud environments. Collaboration across regional units is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, DS, statistics, math, engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 4+ years hands-on experience in Data Science / ML; 4–5 years preferred.
• Strong Python proficiency and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Exposure to Generative AI frameworks and applications.
• Familiarity with SQL, Spark, and Airflow.
• Experience with Git and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data/AI environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate requirements into data solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models using Python to support business applications and data-driven initiatives.
• Develop and optimise both traditional ML and Generative AI solutions for practical business use cases.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data source evaluation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify data science opportunities delivering business value.
• Evaluate data sources for analytical and modelling requirements.
• Refresh, retrain, and enhance existing models with minimal supervision.
• Document model development processes for reproducibility and maintainability.
• Support data pipeline development and data integration initiatives as required.
• Contribute to data governance and data quality improvement activities.
• Participate in evaluating data tools and platforms for regional units.
• Review data practices and provide recommendations for improvement.
