Job summary

Argyll Scott seeks a versatile Full Stack / Mobile Engineer (Flutter focus) in Hong Kong to build customer-facing apps across mobile and web platforms. You will extend into backend services, microservices, and third-party integrations, with emphasis on Flutter-based frontends and secure HK-local workflows.

Required Cantonese and Mandarin, with proven Flutter production experience and success publishing on App Store and Google Play. Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC and e-KYC is a plus.

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a versatile Full-Stack Mobile Engineer to join their growing Insurtech team. Your immediate focus will be building and optimizing their customer-facing cross-platform mobile and web applications using Flutter. As their platform scales, your role will expand beyond mobile frontend development into core backend services, microservices architecture, and third-party system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile Development: Drive the development, maintenance, and enhancement of customer-facing mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications using Flutter.
• App Store Management: Manage end-to-end deployment, submission, updates, and release cycles for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Backend & API Architecture: Progressively take ownership of backend development, designing scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integrations to support core product logic.
• Integrations & Security: Implement secure authentication protocols, e-KYC solutions, and local API integrations (including HK iAM Smart via OAuth2 / OpenID Connect).
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, UI/UX designers, and business stakeholders to iterate rapidly in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• Language Fluency: Professional Cantonese and Mandarin (verbal and written) are strictly required for daily internal team collaboration and local market alignment.
• Flutter Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building and shipping production applications with Flutter across mobile and web platforms.
• Deployment Track Record: Demonstrated experience successfully publishing, launching, and managing apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Authentication & Identity Standards: Solid understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and e-KYC workflows. Ability to independently digest API documentation for local integrations (e.g., iAM Smart).
• Broad Engineering Foundation: Willingness and capability to work across the full stack, including backend service development, database management, and API integrations over time.
• Cantonese/Mandarin speaking is a must

Nice-to-Have

• Hands-on SDK/API integration experience with Hong Kong's iAM Smart platform.
• Prior experience in fintech, insurtech, banking, or regulated financial services environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure), containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
