Job summary

The role emphasizes performance, security, and scalable mobile apps. 3–6 years of Android development, strong Kotlin (or Java), and experience with Jetpack, MVVM, and RESTful APIs are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin (preferred) and/or Java.

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join a fast-growing fintech platform, building high-quality mobile experiences for a rapidly expanding user base.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about mobile development, performance, and delivering seamless, secure user journeys in a consumer-facing product.

You will work closely with product, design, and backend teams to develop and scale features that directly impact user engagement and business growth.

This role is for an Asian HQ company but they are open to applicants +4/-4 of core Asian markets (Hong Kong/Singapore).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into intuitive, user-friendly features
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
• Optimise application performance, stability, and responsiveness across devices
• Integrate APIs and work closely with backend teams on system architecture and data flows

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 3-6+ years of experience in Android development
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin (preferred) and/or Java
• Experience with modern Android development frameworks (e.g. Jetpack, MVVM architecture)
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and mobile app architecture
• Experience with version control tools such as Git
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks is a plus
• Experience building consumer-facing apps, ideally within fintech, payments, or e-commerce
