Job description

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, and review the accounting and financial reporting of SFC-licensed securities brokerage entities, insurance brokerage entities and non-licensed entities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information. Lead the preparation of statutory consolidated financial statements and consolidated management accounts in accordance with HKFRS/HKAS and applicable accounting requirements.

Key responsibilities

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, and review the accounting and financial reporting of SFC-licensed securities brokerage entities, insurance brokerage entities and non-licensed entities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.

Lead the preparation of statutory consolidated financial statements and consolidated management accounts in accordance with HKFRS/HKAS and applicable accounting requirements.

Establish a reconciliation process between management accounts and statutory financial statements, ensuring that reconciling items are properly documented, traceable and clearly explained.

Oversee daily liquid capital monitoring and review the related calculations. Prepare and review FRR returns in accordance with applicable filing requirements. Oversee client money segregation and related reconciliations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast process, including cash flow forecasting, in collaboration with business finance teams. Conduct monthly budget-versus-actual (BvA) analysis, identify key variances and follow up on corrective actions.

Enhance the finance data platform and management reporting dashboards to improve data integration and analysis, and support management decision-making.

Participate in the early-stage assessment of new business initiatives, develop appropriate accounting policies and treatments, assess the implications for financial statements, funding and liquidity, and FRR calculations and reporting, and implement the related accounting and reporting processes.

About you

A bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) is required.

At least 7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or auditing, including at least 2 years of audit experience with a Big Four accounting firm.

End-to-end, hands-on experience in financial accounting, financial statement preparation, tax matters, liquid capital calculations and FRR reporting at an SFC-licensed corporation carrying on Type 1 regulated activity.

Strong technical knowledge of HKFRS/HKAS, with practical experience in group consolidation and reconciling management accounts to statutory financial statements.

Practical experience in budgeting, rolling forecasts and complex financial modelling.

Fluent in spoken Mandarin and English, with excellent written communication skills in both Chinese and English, including the ability to prepare financial reports and management presentations.
