Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel invites a Senior Software Engineer to join our technology team in Hong Kong. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that support business objectives, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers across cross-functional teams.

You will contribute to architectural decisions, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices, staying current with emerging technologies and ensuring code quality through reviews and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go).
• Solid experience with modern software development frameworks and architectures (e.g. microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems).
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and code review practices.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in English (Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage).
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps and CI/CD, security best practices and performance optimization
