Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support monthly financial reporting and closing across Asia.
• Partner with offices across Asia to streamline processes and controls.
• Oversee outsourced accounting providers and month-end close procedures.
• Review employee expense claims for policy compliance.
• Support regulatory/licensing requirements across HK and UAE, including HK SFC reporting.
• Lead finance and accounting for regulated asset management in HK and UAE.
• Prepare statutory accounts, management reports, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure tax, audit, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
• Serve as main contact for auditors, regulators, and bankers.
• Manage journal reviews, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Coordinate cross-border tax planning across HK and UAE.
• Develop internal controls and accounting policies for growth.
• Support fund reporting and consolidation for Group.
• Identify efficiency improvements via process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Potentially act as MIC for Finance under HK SFC framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Asia Financial Controller and work alongside regional and global finance teams to support monthly financial reporting and closing activities across the Asia platform.
• Provide finance business partnering support to multiple offices across Asia, while identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and enhance existing finance processes and controls.
• Oversee outsourced accounting service providers, ensuring the timely and accurate execution of accounts payable activities and month-end close procedures.
• Review employee expense claims and reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and corporate governance standards.

• Lead the finance and accounting activities for the Group's regulated asset management businesses in both Hong Kong and the Middle East Market, ensuring effective financial operations and oversight across jurisdictions.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, management reports, budgeting exercises, and financial analysis in compliance with applicable accounting standards, including HKFRS, IFRS, and local regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant financial, tax, audit, and regulatory obligations, including Hong Kong SFC reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks, along with UAE corporate tax, VAT, and related compliance matters.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, tax consultants, regulators, banking partners, fund administrators, and custodians.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal reviews, reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate financial records.
• Coordinate tax planning, research, and filing activities across both jurisdictions to ensure compliance and optimize tax efficiency.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and financial procedures to support business growth and regulatory expectations.
• Support management company and fund reporting requirements, including consolidation exercises and reporting to senior finance leadership at the Group level.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process enhancements, automation initiatives, and system implementation projects.
• Take on additional finance-related projects and strategic initiatives as required by senior management.
• May be appointed as the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) for Finance and Accounting under the Hong Kong SFC regulatory framework, subject to business requirements and regulatory approval.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a recognised professional accounting designation.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, gained within asset management, financial services, or a similar regulated environment.
• Sound understanding of Hong Kong regulatory and financial reporting requirements, including SFC compliance and financial resources reporting.
• Exposure to cross-border finance operations and regulatory frameworks, particularly within ADGM and the UAE, would be highly desirable.
• Proven track record in overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax matters, and audit engagements within a regulated financial institution.
• Background in asset management or fund management businesses is required; experience supporting quantitative trading or investment platforms will be viewed favourably.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• A self-starter with a collaborative mindset and the confidence to engage with senior management, regulators, auditors, and external advisers.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills.
