Michael Page (Hong Kong) is seeking a senior finance and accounting leader to oversee statutory and management reporting for the group’s regulated asset management businesses in Hong Kong and the Middle East. The role requires 8+ years in finance within asset management, strong HK SFC knowledge, cross-border exposure, and the ability to engage with regulators, auditors, and senior management.

Mandarin and English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit in asset management or a regulated environment.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance with a recognised professional designation (CPA/ACCA)
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong regulatory and financial reporting requirements, including SFC compliance
• Experience with cross-border finance operations (ADGM/UAE) desirable
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills

Responsabilités

• Lead the finance and accounting activities for the Group's regulated asset management businesses in Hong Kong and the Middle East.
• Oversee statutory accounts, management reports, budgeting exercises, and financial analysis per HKFRS/IFRS and local regulations.
• Ensure compliance with HK SFC reporting requirements and UAE tax/VAT obligations.
• Serve as primary finance contact for auditors, regulators, regulators, and banking partners.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, journal reviews, reconciliations, and financial record integrity.
• Coordinate tax planning and filing across jurisdictions to ensure compliance and optimize tax efficiency.
• Develop and maintain internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Support fund reporting, consolidation exercises, and senior leadership reporting at Group level.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency via process enhancements and automation.
• Possibly appointed MIC for Finance and Accounting under HK SFC framework when required by business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance and accounting activities for the Group's regulated asset management businesses in both Hong Kong and the Middle East Market, ensuring effective financial operations and oversight across jurisdictions.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, management reports, budgeting exercises, and financial analysis in compliance with applicable accounting standards, including HKFRS, IFRS, and local regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant financial, tax, audit, and regulatory obligations, including Hong Kong SFC reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks, along with UAE corporate tax, VAT, and related compliance matters.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, tax consultants, regulators, banking partners, fund administrators, and custodians.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal reviews, reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate financial records.
• Coordinate tax planning, research, and filing activities across both jurisdictions to ensure compliance and optimize tax efficiency.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and financial procedures to support business growth and regulatory expectations.
• Support management company and fund reporting requirements, including consolidation exercises and reporting to senior finance leadership at the Group level.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process enhancements, automation initiatives, and system implementation projects.
• Take on additional finance-related projects and strategic initiatives as required by senior management.
• May be appointed as the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) for Finance and Accounting under the Hong Kong SFC regulatory framework, subject to business requirements and regulatory approval.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a recognised professional accounting designation.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, gained within asset management, financial services, or a similar regulated environment.
• Sound understanding of Hong Kong regulatory and financial reporting requirements, including SFC compliance and financial resources reporting.
• Exposure to cross-border finance operations and regulatory frameworks, particularly within ADGM and the UAE, would be highly desirable.
• Proven track record in overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax matters, and audit engagements within a regulated financial institution.
• Background in asset management or fund management businesses is required; experience supporting quantitative trading or investment platforms will be viewed favourably.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• A self-starter with a collaborative mindset and the confidence to engage with senior management, regulators, auditors, and external advisers.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong report-writing and stakeholder management skills.
