Job summary

Sun Life Financial in Hong Kong is seeking a high-potential Finance Intern to join our Financial Reporting team, offering hands-on exposure to real-world finance, accounting, and business operations.

As an intern, you will support month-end close, analyze data with Excel and AI-enabled tools, contribute to process improvements, collaborate across Finance, and assist with ad hoc analyses and presentations. This full-time internship runs January to June 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Data-related field.
• Strong academic performance is expected.
• Available for a full-time internship from January to June 2027.
• Interest in business, finance, analytics, or problem-solving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting activities, including reconciliations, reviews, and close processes.
• Analyze financial and operational data using Excel, AI-enabled tools, and other technologies to generate insights and support decision-making.
• Participate in process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance and other business areas on projects, problem-solving, and day-to-day operations.
• Support ad hoc analysis, presentations, and special projects as assigned.

The role also provides insight into how finance teams collaborate with auditors, actuarial partners, management, and regional stakeholders.

As an intern, you will:

• Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting activities, including reconciliations, reviews, and close processes
• Analyze financial and operational data using Excel, AI-enabled tools, and other technologies to generate insights and support decision-making
• Participate in process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting quality
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance and other business areas on projects, problem-solving, and day‑to‑day operations
• Support ad hoc analysis, presentations, and special projects as assigned

Preferred Skills
