Job summary

Fidelity International in Hong Kong offers a 10-week internship in Sustainable Investing, exposing you to two pillars: Stewardship & Research and Strategy, Product & Governance. You will work on substantive projects, learn from experts, and contribute to sustainability data and reporting.

The team you’ll join:

Our investment process takes environmental, social and governance ("ESG") issues into account when, in our view, these have a material impact on either investment risk or return. We gain an understanding of the relevant ESG issues applicable to our investments through our internal research process and in collaboration with a highly technical in‑house Sustainable Investing team to identify those issues which may potentially threaten the value of our investments.

The Sustainable Investing team is organised into two complementary pillars – Stewardship & Research and Strategy, Product & Governance – which work together to support the integration and implementation of sustainability considerations across our investment activities and client offering.

The Stewardship & Research pillar focuses on generating sustainability research and insights to support investment decision‑making, and using stewardship to influence companies and wider market practices. Its work spans sector and thematic research, ESG and governance analysis, company and policy engagement, and proxy voting, helping identify material sustainability risks and opportunities and support long‑term value creation.

The Strategy, Product & Governance pillar focuses on building and maintaining the sustainability data, tools and investment frameworks that underpin our sustainable investing capabilities, and translating them into products and client solutions. Its work spans sustainability datasets and methodologies, product design and implementation, tailored client solutions, regulatory requirements and ongoing product oversight, helping embed these capabilities consistently across our investment offering.

What you’ll be doing:

On our 10‑week programme, you will gain experience across the two core pillars of our Sustainable Investing team. You will typically work on a substantive project within each area, alongside shorter‑term team priorities. Your work may include researching sustainability themes and companies, supporting engagement and voting‑related analysis, analysing sustainability data, and contributing to the development of sustainable investment products, tools, frameworks and reporting. You will work with colleagues across Sustainability and the wider investment business, using research and data to develop insights, solve practical problems and communicate your findings clearly.
