Job summary

EIRE Systems (Hong Kong) Limited in Hong Kong Island is seeking a Business Analyst/ Data Analyst for the Finance team in the insurance sector. The role focuses on defining data platform requirements and translating complex business logic into scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in business/data analysis, strong SQL and Python skills, and fluency in English and Chinese, with experience in financial services or insurance advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Financial Systems, or a related role.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, asset management, or related industries is advantageous.
• Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, business rule definition, and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of finance and accounting processes, including reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or regulatory reporting.
• Hands-on Python experience for data analysis, transformation, automation, or prototyping.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
• Practical experience using Microsoft 365 Copilot .

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Translate complex financial calculations and reporting logic into clear functional specifications, process flows, and technical requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to validate business rules, assumptions, and solution approaches.
• Prioritise requirements and manage competing business needs to ensure successful project delivery.
• Produce user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, traceability matrices, and supporting project documentation.
• Manage requirement changes, dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to define data requirements, source-to-target mappings, integration specifications, and end-to-end data flows.
• Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, functional specifications, and process documentation.
