Gusto Media Lab Limited in Hong Kong seeks an onsite operations collaborator to manage day-to-day performance of installed technology and on-site experiences across venues.
You will coordinate installation, logistics, event support, monitor hardware condition, gather customer feedback, and work with our technology and product teams to drive improvements while maintaining presentation standards.
Reporting to the Operations Leader in Hong Kong and working closely with our in-house technology team, commercial colleagues and regional partners, this role owns the day-to-day performance of our installed technology and the physical delivery of our on-site experiences. Your main responsibilities will be:
Coordinate and execute installation, relocation and removal of equipment, including liaising with logistics vendors, securing site access, permits and power/network requirements.
Support setup and teardown for brand activations, roadshows and events, including run sheets, transport and on-site manpower coordination.
Act as a dependable on-the-ground contact for venue managers, mall operators and partner teams, representing Gusto with professionalism and reliability.
Maintain the hardware asset and spare parts registers — serial numbers, warranty status, condition and current location.
Be the eyes and ears on the ground: observe how real customers interact with the photobooth, identify friction points in the user journey (from approach and payment to photo generation and collection), and proactively flag experience gaps to the operations and product teams.
Gather and document customer feedback, service incidents and usage patterns, translating what you see in the field into clear, actionable suggestions for product, content or process improvements.
Support the testing and rollout of new content, UI/UX changes, pricing updates and promotional features by coordinating pilots, collecting on-site feedback and reporting back on real-world performance.
Uphold the condition, cleanliness and presentation standard of every site as if it were your own brand — because to the customer, it is.
Run a regular on-site inspection route across our locations in Hong Kong, working to a defined checklist and standard, ensuring every site is clean, presentable and fully operational.
Carry out routine maintenance, consumables replenishment and first-line checks -including photo paper, lighting, camera alignment, screen cleanliness and general presentation - so that no location goes offline due to preventable issues.
Monitor system and operational notifications across our content management system and messaging channels, respond within agreed service levels, and drive issues to closure with persistence and follow-through.
Keep immaculate records of work done, faults found, parts used and customer feedback, so that the wider team has a live, accurate view of the estate at any time.
Work closely with our in-house technology team to identify, reproduce and clearly describe system errors and bugs from the field, supporting testing and verification of fixes before they are deployed.
Contribute to the design and specification of hardware upgrades by sharing what you observe in the field — failure patterns, customer behaviour and cost drivers — so that product decisions are grounded in real usage.
1–3 years of experience in operations, retail, hospitality, events, logistics or any role where you were expected to execute reliably, manage multiple moving parts and deliver consistent results day after day. Fresh graduates with strong internship or part-time operational experience will be considered.
Strong executors — you get a task, you break it down, you get it done, and you close the loop without being chased.
Naturally observant about customer experience
Comfortable working with hardware and basic technology; prior exposure to printers, cameras, PCs, kiosks, digital signage or basic networking is helpful but not required — we will teach you what you need to know. A willingness to learn and figure things out matters more than what you already know.
Physically able to handle equipment, and willing to work across sites and around venue operating hours, which will include evenings, weekends and public holidays — particularly during peak seasons and campaign periods when customer traffic is highest.
Highly reliable and self-directed
Organized and detail-oriented
Curious about how the product and experience could be better, and willing to put forward ideas rather than only fixing what is in front of you.
A growth mindset and a commitment to excellence; comfortable in a fast-moving business where the scope of the role will grow with you.
Fluent in Cantonese with working English, both written and verbal; Mandarin is an advantage.
