Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator within the building construction industry in Hong Kong with Residential and Commercial experience.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and labor cost assessments for various construction disciplines.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure alignment between estimated costs and project deliverables.
  • Submit bids within designated deadlines, adhering to client requirements and project specifications.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices for materials and services.
  • Maintain a database of reliable and cost-effective suppliers, ensuring timely procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising quality standards.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to implement value engineering techniques and alternative solutions.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and provide recommendations to optimize project budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and project-related documents.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing cost breakdowns, variances, and project progress for internal and client review.
