Job summary

N1 Solutions Limited in Quarry Bay, HK is seeking a System Analyst to develop and support our in-house middle- and front-office systems. You will design, test, document, and implement new applications while working closely with IT and business teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in investment banking or securities trading, strong C#/Java, Linux skills, and experience with SQL/SSIS. Proficiency in English and Chinese is required. Permanent HK resident preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Strong business knowledge of equity trading and middle-office/back-office operations.
• Hands-on experience with C# or Java, Linux, shell scripting, Excel VBA, and SQL.
• Experience with SSIS, Python, Omgeo CTM, AWS Cloud, Gloss, Ullink, and Fidessa is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in investment banking or securities trading, with exposure to middle-office/back-office systems for equity trading.
• Self-motivated with strong analytical, problem-solving and results-oriented skills.
• Clear and confident communication skills in English and Chinese.
• Team player capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

Job description

The appointee will be responsible for the development and support of the company’s Hong Kong’s in-house middle‑office and front‑office systems.

Design and develop in-house systems, and plan and execute unit, functional, and integration testing in accordance with defined functional requirements.

Prepare and maintain development documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and test results.

Perform system analysis, development, testing, and implementation for new and enhanced applications.

Collaborate with first-line support teams to provide second-line support, and work closely with internal IT teams (e.g. Database Administration and Infrastructure) to analyze, track, and resolve technical issues, reporting progress and findings to managers or team leaders.

Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for potential system solutions, and present clear recommendations for business consideration.

Provide early-shift support when required.

Develop and design interfaces for the company’s Middle Office System (DMOS) and related back‑office systems.

Provide support and enhancement for Excel-based tools used by the Equity Middle Office and Research departments.

Serve as a key application developer for Bloomberg/Reuters instrument static data systems, databases (e.g. SQL Server), SSIS, Linux batch jobs, and Excel tools.

Act as primary point of contact for the above systems, delivering effective solutions to operational and technical issues.

Automate deployment and release processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

Collaborate with regional offices to support and implement regional IT changes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Strong business knowledge of equity trading and middle‑office/back‑office operations.

Hands‑on experience with C# or Java, Linux, shell scripting, Excel VBA, and SQL. Experience with SSIS, Python, Omgeo CTM, AWS Cloud, Gloss, Ullink, and Fidessa is an advantage.

Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming concepts and practices.

Preferred to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the investment banking or securities trading industry, with relevant exposure to the development and support of middle‑office/back‑office systems for equity trading.

Self‑motivated and able to multitask, with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and results‑oriented skills.

Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Chinese.

A strong team player who is also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
