Job summary

ConnectedGroup is seeking a Java or C# Developer to join our Equity/Global Markets team in Hong Kong. You will design, develop, test and implement new systems, maintain interfaces for Middle Office and back-office applications, and support Excel-based tools used by Equity and Research teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with C# or Java, Linux, shell scripting, Excel VBA, and SQL, plus knowledge of OO programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Equity trading and middle-/back-office operations.
• Hands-on experience with C# or Java, Linux, shell scripting, Excel VBA and SQL.
• Experience with SSIS, Python, Omgeo CTM, AWS Cloud, Gloss, Ullink or Fidessa is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good English and Chinese communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement new systems based on requirements.

Java or C# Developer - Equity / Global Markets / 50k to 60k per month

I am currently helping our Client seeking a Developer to join the team in Hong Kong.

Your role:

• Design, develop, test, and implement new systems and enhancements based on business requirements.
• Develop and maintain interfaces for the Middle Office System and related back-office applications.
• Support and enhance Excel-based tools used by the Equity Middle Office and Research teams.
• Maintain Bloomberg and Reuters instrument static data applications, SQL Server databases, SSIS packages, Linux batch jobs, and Excel tools.
• Plan and execute unit, functional, and integration testing; maintain design specifications, test plans, and test results.
• Provide second-line application support in coordination with first-line support teams.
• Work with Database Administration, Infrastructure, and other IT teams to investigate and resolve technical issues, keeping managers informed of progress and findings.
• Assess the feasibility and impact of proposed solutions and present recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Improve deployment and release processes through automation.
• Coordinate with regional offices on IT changes and implementations.
• Provide early-shift support when required.

You should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Equity trading and middle- and back-office operations.
• Hands-on experience with C# or Java, Linux, shell scripting, Excel VBA, and SQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
• At least three years of relevant experience in investment banking or securities trading is preferred, particularly in developing or supporting Equity trading systems.
• Experience with SSIS, Python, Omgeo CTM, AWS Cloud, Gloss, Ullink, or Fidessa is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
• A collaborative team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
