Job summary

GMP Recruitment Services (S) Pte Ltd in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support the design, installation, and upkeep of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment meets specs and safety standards.

The role involves commissioning new machinery, developing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex systems, and contributing to continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma, NITEC or Higher NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Relevant experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or engineering support in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes is an advantage.
• Experience with CAD software for component modelling and design is preferred.
• Proficient in maintenance tools and diagnostics and in maintenance management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with root cause analysis capability.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, selection, installation, and setup of equipment, machinery, and accessories.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure equipment specifications and design requirements are met.
• Commission and validate new equipment for proper functionality and performance.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and accessories.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and perform repairs.
• Support RCA with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve recurring issues.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and upgrades.
• Maintain equipment performance records, maintenance logs, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards and conduct safety inspections.
• Maintain technical documentation including specifications, maintenance records, SOPs, user guides, and work instructions.
• Work with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve issues and improve production performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to operators and maintenance staff.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and Six Sigma.
• Test and evaluate accessory compatibility with semiconductor equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, selection, installation, and setup of equipment, machinery, and accessory components.

• Collaborate with engineers to ensure equipment specifications and design requirements are met.

• Commission and validate new equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.

• Support root cause analysis (RCA) with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve recurring equipment issues.

• Monitor and evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and upgrades.

• Maintain accurate equipment performance records, maintenance logs, and technical reports.

• Ensure equipment and accessories comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.

• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments and support training on safe equipment operation.

• Maintain technical documentation, including equipment specifications, maintenance records, SOPs, user guides, and work instructions.

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve issues and improve production performance.

• Provide technical guidance and support to operators and maintenance personnel.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.

• Test and evaluate accessory compatibility with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve accessory-related issues during testing, installation, and equipment operation.
  

Job requirement:

Role Requirements

• Diploma, NITEC, or Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Relevant experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or engineering support within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, accessories, and production processes is an advantage.

• Experience with CAD software for component modelling and design is preferred.

• Proficient in using maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance management systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend effective solutions.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document work processes.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate records.

• Knowledge of industry safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a manufacturing environment that may involve noise, heat, or chemical exposure.
