Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a technically skilled service engineer to set up, install and commission semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will provide pre- and post-sales support, train customers, and maintain detailed service records.

Travel overseas and collaboration with engineering will be essential to improve machine performance and identify growth opportunities. You should have a related diploma, hands-on experience with automated equipment, and strong customer focus.

Qualifications

• Higher NITEC / ITC / Diploma in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience servicing automated / production equipment.
• Computer literate.
• Able to travel overseas at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, install, buy-off and commission new semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to service and upgrade equipment.
• Trouble-shoot process problems and identify root causes for timely resolution.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing on design, quality and performance issues.
• Assist in machine performance evaluation with technical reports and feedback.
• Cost management to lower service expenses during warranty and post-warranty.
• Provide technical training for customers on set-up, operations and maintenance.
• Update and maintain service documentation in databases for records and resolution.
• Defend customer installed base with field service reports.
• Provide market intelligence to Service and Sales on ground.
• Build and maintain strong customer relations on ground.
• Strive to convert demo POs to confirmed POs with strong technical support.
• Identify opportunities for spare parts sales and preventive maintenance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(a) Technical Service Support

• Set-up, install, buy-off and commission new semiconductor equipment at customer sites
• Provide pre and post sales technical support to service and upgrade equipment e.g. change-kits, new design modules, features and capabilities
• Trouble-shoot process related problems and identify root cause(s) for effective and timely resolution of field issues
• Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing on design, quality and performance issues
• Assist in overall machine performance evaluation with technical reports and feedback
• Cost management to lower service support expenses during warranty and post warranty

(b) Technical Training

• Provide technical training for customers on set-up, operations and maintenance
• Update and maintain all service related documentation or reports in databases (e.g. customer feedback system) for effective record, monitoring and resolution of customer issues

(c) Defend Customer base

• Defend customer installed base with regular field service reports
• Provide competitive information and market intelligence on ground to Service and Sales
• Build and maintain strong customer relations on ground

(d) Support Service and Sales revenue growth

• Strive to convert demo POs to confirmed POs at customer sites with strong technical and customer service support
• Identify opportunities on ground for added revenue in terms of spare part sales, preventive maintenance etc

MAIN JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Some experience in servicing automated / production equipment.
