Job summary

ATAL Engineering Group in Hong Kong is seeking an Engineer (Mechanical Handling/Lifting Appliance/Crane) to lead project coordination between clients, consultants, main contractors and subcontractors. You will plan and design mechanical handling systems, develop lift plans, perform load calculations, and ensure compliance with technical specs.

The role requires a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, at least 3 years’ experience with overhead cranes or gantry hoists,

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in overhead crane, gantry, or monorail hoist systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

• Project Coordination: act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, main contractors, and sub-contractors to streamline project implementation.
• Engineering & Design: plan, design, and manage mechanical handling projects, including lift plans, load calculations, and ensuring compliance with specs.
• Technical Documentation: prepare engineering drawings submissions, method statements, material approvals, and T&C reports.
• Site Management: monitor on-site progress, enforce workmanship quality, and resolve on-site issues quickly.
• Commercial Support: assist the Project Manager with tender prep, cost analysis, price negotiation, budget control, and contract administration.

Project Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, main contractors, and sub-contractors to streamline project implementation.

Engineering & Design: Plan, design, and manage mechanical handling projects. This includes developing lift plans, performing structural steel and load calculations, and ensuring full compliance with technical specifications.

Technical Documentation: Prepare critical project documentation, including engineering drawing submissions, method statements, material approvals, and testing & commissioning (T&C) reports.

Site Management: Monitor on-site project progress, enforce strict workmanship quality, and resolve ad hoc site execution issues swiftly.

Commercial Support: Assist the Project Manager with tender preparation, cost analysis, price negotiation, budget control, and contract administration.

Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in overhead crane, gantry, or monorail hoist systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.

Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates with more relevant working experience will be considered as Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer.
