Job summary

Leadingnation invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer role based at Admiralty / Lamma Island, Hong Kong. The appointee will monitor project progress, review drawings and participate in tender evaluations to support construction management.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in English and Chinese. Fixed-term contract for 2 years with renewal opportunities and on-site obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of project engineering, coordination and contract administration.
  • Experience with power plant equipment is an advantage.
  • Familiar with local and international regulations, standards and codes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM.
  • Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project progress and coordinate activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review drawings, method statements, risk assessments and submissions for compliance.
  • Conduct tender evaluations and provide recommendations.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Carry out site inspections, supervision and coordination.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer/ Chief Manager (Construction Management), the appointee will mainly perform the following responsibilities:

  • To monitor project progress and coordinate activities throughout the project lifecycle, including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and project close-out
  • To review engineering drawings, method statements, risk assessments and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards and statutory regulations
  • To conduct tender evaluations and make recommendations
  • To liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and other external parties to resolve environmental, quality, health and safety issues, and to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements as well as other project objectives
  • To carry out inspections, supervision and coordination work at site
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Sound knowledge of project engineering, coordination and contract administration
  • Practical experience and technical knowledge of power plant equipment would be an advantage
  • Familiar with relevant local and international regulations, procedures, standards and codes of practice
  • Proficient in computer applications including MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM, etc.
  • Good command of English and Chinese languages, both spoken and written

Candidate with less relevant experience may be considered for the position of Engineer II.

This is a 2-year contract position. Renewal of contract or appointment as a member of our permanent workforce is subject to the Company’s business needs and the performance of the individual.

Working Location:

Admiralty / Lamma Island, transportation to be provided
