Job summary

Deacons is seeking a paralegal to join its Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Hong Kong. You will support lawyers with document drafting, research, court bundles, correspondence, client liaison, and translation work.

The ideal candidate holds an LLB or diploma in law/legal studies, with English and Chinese proficiency. Mandarin is a plus. The role requires a hardworking, detail‑oriented team player able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Holder of a law degree (LLB) or a diploma in law/legal studies or equivalent.
Experience in a law firm/the legal industry preferred.
Excellent command of English and Chinese (written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
Hard working, highly organised and enthusiastic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical, with good attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
A team player, but able to work independently.
Computer literacy – well versed in MS Office, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Provide legal support to lawyers within the Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Draft and review documents and prepare court bundles.
Conduct legal research and translate documents.
Draft simple correspondence and liaise with clients and third parties.
