Job summary

Jobtailor in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end data analytics projects, from inception to deployment, with a focus on delivering scalable data platform capabilities.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, manage risks, and drive governance, security, and data quality across cloud environments leveraging open-source tools and modern SDLC practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in data analytics, IT development or project management.
• Strong technical capabilities and proven team-management and project-delivery experience.
• Familiar with SDLC, Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.
• Solid background in software development and data technologies (SOA, data modeling, data visualization).
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and end-to-end tech stacks.
• Experience with data security, data lineage, and data management tools (LDAP, OAuth, Keycloak, OpenMetadata).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and manage end-to-end delivery of data analytics projects, from inception to deployment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver data platform capabilities, prioritizing requirements based on business value and mitigation of data risks.
• Manage data initiatives by tracking progress and risks against scope, schedule, and cost, in coordination with business and technology teams.
• Promote compliant and high-quality data reuse on the enterprise platform by incrementally delivering functionalities across the data lifecycle, including data access control, data lineage, data quality, and data analytics.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to support implementation and delivery activities on the data platform.
• Drive the implementation with cloud and open-source capabilities to enable data management and data governance.
• Apply hybrid project management approaches, leveraging agile tools within SDLC phases.
• Coordinate with the data engineering function to ensure efficient use of technical tools and internal resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 6 years of experience in data analytics, IT development or project management, preferably within large enterprises and the capital markets or financial services industry.
• Possess stronger technical capabilities and proven experience in team management and project delivery.
• Well-versed in SDLC disciplines, with experience in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
• Solid technical background with hands-on experience in software development and data-related technologies, such as multi-tier service-oriented architecture, data modelling, and data visualization.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture requirements and end-to-end technology stacks
• Proficient in JupyterHub or-equivalent data science workbenches
• Familiarity with native cloud technologies (e.g., Huawei, Alibaba, AWS, Azure)
• Familiar with data security, data lineage and data management tools, such as LDAP, OAuth, Keycloak, and OpenMetadata
• Familiar with data management, data governance, and data quality standards
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
• Agile, Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, cloud, or data-related certifications are advantageous.
