Job summary

Tory Burch HK is seeking a Director of Product Development for handbags and small leather goods. Based in Hong Kong, you will oversee end-to-end development, coordinate with Design, NY PD, Tech, QA, and vendors to ensure brand aesthetics, quality, and timely delivery.

You will balance design intent with technical feasibility and cost targets, lead a high-performance team, and drive continuous improvement across development standards and supplier partnerships.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in product development, pre-production, or commercialization for handbags and small leather goods.
• 5+ years of leadership experience leading product development teams and managing calendars across milestones.
• Strong knowledge of HBSLGs construction, materials, trims, finishing techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to balance design intent with technical feasibility, cost targets, and vendor capability.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Mandarin/Cantonese a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and development tracking tools; PLM or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full HBSLGs product development process from design handoff to production readiness.
• Coordinate with Design, NY PD, Tech, QA, Raw Materials, Costing, Testing, Production and vendors.
• Apply technical understanding of bag construction, materials, and workmanship to balance aesthetics, quality, cost and manufacturability.
• Identify risks early and work with partners to resolve issues.
• Drive sample execution, validation, testing, and approval across seasonal timelines.
• Set and monitor KPIs for development cadence, sample hit rate, and calendar adherence.
• Lead, coach and develop the PDP team with clear ownership and accountability.
