Job summary

Don Nelson Technology Limited is seeking a Director to define and execute enterprise data platform strategies that drive growth, analytics, and AI initiatives. You will lead the design and governance of data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms while establishing DaaS and self-service analytics across the organization.

You will oversee delivery of data, CRM, finance, risk, and market data initiatives, manage end-to-end project lifecycles, and mentor a team of data professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of experience in data management, enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, and technology project delivery within banking or financial services.
• Proven leadership experience managing large-scale enterprise technology and data transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of financial products, client data, trading systems, market data, and revenue-related data structures.
• Advanced SQL expertise with working knowledge of Java and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable data architectures, models, and enterprise solutions.
• Oversee the delivery of strategic data, CRM, finance, risk, and market data technology initiatives.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycles including planning, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and stakeholder management.
• Lead data onboarding, integration, mapping, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, timeline, budget, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships, project governance, and risk controls across multiple workstreams.
• Partner with AI and analytics teams to provide trusted, high-quality, AI-ready data assets.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including DevOps, automation, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
• Lead enterprise data modelling initiatives covering financial products, customer data, market data, and trading information.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of business analysts, data engineers, architects, and developers.
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges and improve platform stability.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, or related disciplines

10+ years of experience in data management, enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, and technology project delivery within banking or financial services

Proven leadership experience managing large-scale enterprise technology and data transformation programs

Strong understanding of financial products, client data, trading systems, market data, and revenue-related data structures

Advanced SQL expertise with working knowledge of Java and related technologies

Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Hadoop, or similar technologies

Experience with BI and reporting platforms including Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent solutions

Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS and GCP

Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps methodologies, automation, and CI/CD practices

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and architectural design capabilities

Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills

Fluent in English and Chinese; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading enterprise-wide data modernization or AI transformation programs

Background in investment banking, capital markets, or financial data platforms

Experience managing global teams and multi-country technology initiatives

Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and data governance frameworks

Experience building self-service analytics and data product capabilities

Exposure to regulatory, risk, finance, and trading technology environments
