Job summary

Techforce Group Limited seeks a Data Platform Engineer Lead to steer a team of Data Engineers and shape enterprise data platforms, data lakes, and lakehouses. You will guide ETL/ELT development, data migrations, and pipelines using SQL, PL/SQL and Python, while ensuring quality and delivery timelines across HK teams.

You will collaborate with PMs, Data Analysts, and architects to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions supporting analytics, ML, and Generative AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT/data engineering experience with senior/leadership exposure.
• Experience coordinating internal teams and vendors, owning technical delivery.
• Strong English and Chinese communication across technical and business stakeholders.

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of Data Engineers, providing technical direction, reviewing solutions, allocating work, and ensuring engineering quality and timely delivery. Drive the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, and target-state data architectures. Provide hands‑on technical leadership for the design, development, automation, and optimization of complex ETL/ELT processes, data migrations, and data pipelines using SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and modern data engineering frameworks.

Key responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of Data Engineers, providing technical direction, reviewing solutions, allocating work, and ensuring engineering quality and timely delivery

Manage delivery across internal engineering teams and external vendors, aligning responsibilities, technical standards, dependencies, deliverables, and timelines

Work closely with Technical Project Managers, Data Analysts, Data Architects, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to translate business and project requirements into scalable technical solutions

Drive the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, and target-state data architectures

Provide hands‑on technical leadership for the design, development, automation, and optimization of complex ETL/ELT processes, data migrations, and data pipelines

Establish and enforce engineering standards covering data quality, security, governance, code quality, architecture, performance, and operational readiness

Partner with Technical PMs to manage technical priorities, dependencies, risks, issues, and delivery milestones

Build robust, scalable data foundations that support analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI use cases

About you

7+ years of IT/data engineering experience, with proven experience in a senior engineering, technical lead, or data team leadership role

Demonstrated experience coordinating internal engineering teams and third‑party vendors, with strong ownership of technical quality and project delivery

Strong experience working with Technical PMs, Data Analysts, architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams throughout the project delivery lifecycle

Strong hands‑on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, and data engineering technologies including SQL, PL/SQL/Oracle, and Python

Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data integration, data migration, data modeling, data lakes/lakehouses, and enterprise data architecture

Ability to make technical decisions, review engineering approaches, troubleshoot complex issues, establish engineering standards, and guide engineers and vendors toward scalable solutions

Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to bridge business requirements, project delivery, and technical implementation

Strong communication skills in English and Chinese, with Mandarin and/or Cantonese suitable for working across technical teams and stakeholders
