Barclays is seeking a Director of E-Trading BOC in Hong Kong to lead cross-market oversight and provide day-to-day advisory coverage on electronic trading desks. The role focuses on governance, controls, and regulatory guidance across APAC markets, partnering with Legal, Risk, and Front Office stakeholders.

You will drive continuous check and challenge of the Global Electronic Trading Governance Standard, deliver actionable insights, and contribute to industry initiatives while ensuring robust

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in compliance, regulatory or risk within financial services, ideally supporting Markets.
• Strong understanding of e-trading, cash equities and equities derivatives and related controls.
• Experience providing real-time or transaction-specific compliance guidance.
• Knowledge of global and APAC regulatory requirements relevant to Markets activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with audit-ready documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a demanding environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide second line of defence for algorithms and electronic trading environments, advising Sales and Trading teams.
• Oversee electronic trading governance standards and ensure compliant business practices in APAC.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and best practices for electronic trading controls.
• Collaborate with Market Compliance, Legal, and risk teams to manage regulatory relationships.
• Lead inquiries, investigations, and lessons learned within the Electronic Trading Compliance Task Force.
• Maintain MI for senior management and escalate risks where appropriate.
