Reporting to the Vice President – Information Technology, APAC, the Director – Business Applications & Solutions leads the Business Applications & Solutions capability across the region, owning strategy, governance, delivery and continuous evolution of the Company's business applications — including its internally developed Warehouse Management System — so that technology enables efficient, scalable and reliable operations while supporting customer requirements and business growth.
The role requires a business leader who has evolved from the applications and software development domain, with enough technical depth to challenge architecture, engineering and vendor decisions without being drawn into hands‑on delivery. The Director builds organisational capability through strong leadership, sound technology governance and a high‑performing regional team, balancing strategic partnership with direct accountability for budget, delivery and outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Business Leadership
- Develop and execute the APAC Business Applications & Solutions strategy in alignment with the Company's business objectives and regional IT strategy.
- Establish trusted partnerships with business and operational leaders, advising senior leadership on technology opportunities, risks and investment priorities.
- Develop, forecast, manage and monitor the Business Applications & Solutions budget, exercising delegated financial authority within approved limits.
- epresent Business Applications & Solutions in regional leadership forums, ensuring investment decisions are grounded in demonstrable business value.
Business Applications & Solutions
- Own the regional Business Applications capability, ensuring applications enable efficient, scalable and reliable operations while supporting future growth.
- Establish and govern application development standards and solution architecture principles, approving technical direction within delegated authority.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and lifecycle management across the portfolio to reduce technical debt and support long‑term sustainability.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, balancing business need, technical capability, commercial considerations and supportability.
Software Development & Integration
- Build and lead a high‑performing software development organisation capable of delivering secure, scalable and maintainable business solutions.
- Govern application integration across enterprise platforms, internally developed applications, customer systems and third‑party technologies.
- Promote modern engineering practices that improve software quality, delivery capability and operational resilience.
- Retain sufficient technical credibility to constructively challenge architecture, design and delivery decisions made by the engineering team.
Warehouse Management Systems & Logistics Solutions
- Provide strategic leadership for the Company's Warehouse Management System and logistics application capabilities, supporting their expansion across the region.
- Ensure WMS solutions evolve as an integrated part of the broader applications portfolio in support of operational excellence and regional growth.
- Balance customer‑specific requirements against long‑term product sustainability, standardisation and platform scalability.
Leadership & Governance
- Develop organisational capability through effective organisation design, succession planning, coaching and leadership development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging adoption of emerging technologies where they deliver measurable business value.
- Ensure business applications comply with corporate governance, cybersecurity, regulatory and technology standards.
- Establish, negotiate and manage relationships with software vendors and implementation partners, exercising delegated authority within approved procurement and governance frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Progressive experience with increasing leadership responsibility in enterprise applications, software development or technology solution delivery within medium to large organisations.
- Demonstrated experience leading regional or geographically distributed technology teams within a matrixed organisation.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise business applications and managing application portfolios and technology transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, logistics technology or supply chain solutions highly advantageous.
- Proven experience managing software vendors, implementation partners and outsourced service providers.
- Experience operating within multinational organisations and matrix reporting environments.
