Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a Digital Automation Engineer in the System & Network Operations department. The role identifies, designs, and implements automated solutions to eliminate repetitive manual processes and improve operational efficiency through digital workflows.

You will evaluate current workflows, architect technical solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation projects, with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information System or IT related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of infra and system programming or scripting.
• Solid hands-on coding and software development experience.
• Experience with integration coding using Python, Perl, Unix Shell, PowerShell, Excel Macro, PowerApp, etc.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, ServiceNow, CyberArk, SharePoint.
• Interest and knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Attention to details, with multi-tasking capabilities.
• Strong sense of technology risk and security.
• Proactive, able to work independently.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Summary

Digital Automation Engineer under System & Network Operations department is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automated solutions to eliminate repetitive manual processes. This role drives operational efficiency by evaluating current workflows, architecting technical solutions, and transforming manual tasks into streamlined digital workflows.

Job Duties

• Identify Opportunities: Analyze existing business processes to find inefficiencies and high-volume manual tasks ripe for automation.
• Provide Solutions: Architect, develop, and deploy robust automation solutions using RPA, scripting, AI, or low-code platforms.
• Eliminate Manual Works: Streamline daily operations by replacing tedious, error-prone manual data entry and processing with digital workflows.
• Initiate Projects: Propose new automation initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope and timelines.
• Create Proposals: Draft detailed business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and project proposals to secure stakeholder buy-in and funding.
• Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, process maps, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Job Requirements

• Degree graduation in Computer Science, Information System or IT related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure and system programming or scripting. University fresh graduates with outstanding programming experience will be considered also.
• Solid hands-on coding and software development experiences.
• Proven experience on systems integration coding using Python, Perl, Unix Shell Scripts, Windows PowerShell, Excel Macro, PowerApp, etc.
• Knowledge on Windows, Linux, ServiceNow, CyberArk, SharePoint.
• With interest and knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Attention to details, with multi-tasking capabilities on handling planning, coordination and execution at the same time.
• Strong sense on technology risk and security.
• Proactive working attitude, able to work independently.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
