Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd seeks a Digital Automation Engineer Associate in IT to drive automation initiatives within System & Network Operations. You will identify automation opportunities, architect robust solutions, and deploy workflows that reduce manual tasks while supporting security and reliability.

The role requires 3+ years in infrastructure or scripting, plus hands-on coding skills across Python/Perl/PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related IT discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of infrastructure and system programming or scripting experience; fresh graduates with strong programming skills also considered.
• Hands-on coding and software development experience.
• Proven experience in systems integration coding using Python, Perl, Unix Shell, PowerShell, Excel Macros, PowerApps.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, ServiceNow, CyberArk, SharePoint.
• Interest and knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask planning, coordination and execution.

Job Summary:

Digital Automation Engineer under System & Network Operations department is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automated solutions to eliminate repetitive manual processes. This role drives operational efficiency by evaluating current workflows, architecting technical solutions, and transforming manual tasks into streamlined digital workflows.

Identify Opportunities: Analyze existing business processes to find inefficiencies and high-volume manual tasks ripe for automation.

Provide Solutions: Architect, develop, and deploy robust automation solutions using RPA, scripting, AI, or low-code platforms.

Eliminate Manual Works: Streamline daily operations by replacing tedious, error-prone manual data entry and processing with digital workflows.

Initiate Projects: Propose new automation initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope and timelines.

Create Proposals: Draft detailed business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and project proposals to secure stakeholder buy-in and funding.

Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, process maps, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Job Requirements:

Degree graduation in Computer Science, Information System or IT related disciplines.

Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure and system programming or scripting. University fresh graduates with outstanding programming experience will be considered also.

Solid hands-on coding and software development experiences.

Proven experience on systems integration coding using Python, Perl, Unix Shell Scripts, Windows PowerShell, Excel Macro, PowerApp, etc.

Knowledge on Windows, Linux, ServiceNow, CyberArk, SharePoint.

With interest and knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Attention to details, with multi-tasking capabilities on handling planning, coordination and execution at the same time.

Strong sense on technology risk and security.

Proactive working attitude, able to work independently.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
