Role Overview
As our part-time Design & Content Strategist, you'll help our team to turn raw footage, product demos, and R&D stories into engaging content for social media, our website, and campaigns. You'll work closely with our marketing team, and occasionally with our R&D engineers, to make complex health technology feel clear, exciting, and human.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form and long-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and our website, including reels, product explainers, behind-the-scenes lab content, and event recaps.
- Add motion graphics, captions, sound design, and simple animations to bring content to life.
- Help plan and script video content, and turn technical concepts (like how sweat sensing works) into accessible, visual stories.
- Create supporting assets such as thumbnails, social graphics, and short copy for posts.
- Adapt content to each platform's format, pacing, and audience.
- Maintain an organized library of footage and brand assets, and keep content consistent with PointFit's brand guidelines.
- Occasionally assist with filming, whether in the lab, at events, or for product shoots.
- Track basic content performance and suggest improvements based on what resonates.
Requirements
- Prior experience in video editing and content creation, with a portfolio or showreel demonstrating your work.
- Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, plus CapCut or similar tools for fast social edits.
- Working knowledge of After Effects or other motion graphics tools.
- Strong grasp of social media trends, short-form storytelling, and what makes content stop the scroll.
- A good eye for pacing, composition, color, and audio.
- Ability to manage your time independently and hit deadlines within a part‑time schedule.
Nice to Have
- Experience creating content for health, fitness, wellness, or tech brands.
- Basic design skills in Canva, Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- Filming and lighting experience, including shooting on smartphones or mirrorless cameras.
- Comfort explaining scientific or technical topics in a simple, engaging way.
- Copywriting skills for captions and short-form scripts.
