Job summary

HashKey Group in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced institutional sales professional to drive orderbook liquidity for VARA-licensed perpetual futures. You will own the complete sales cycle, engage hedge funds, prop desks, and family offices, and tailor offerings to trading strategies such as market-making and arbitrage.

You'll act as SME on contract mechanics, funding rates, margins, and liquidation, while building relationships with institutional clients across Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related fields.
• 3–8 years in derivatives sales/trading, institutional sales, or market-making with crypto or traditional markets.
• Onshore market experience in Hong Kong and/or Singapore preferred.
• Established institutional client network across Asia delivering value from day one.
• Strong negotiation & communication skills with prospect-to-trader conversion ability.
• Familiarity with Asian regulatory frameworks and crypto derivatives markets.

Key Responsibilities

Orderbook Sales & Liquidity Building

• Actively market and sell VARA-licensed perpetual futures products to institutional clients, with a primary focus on driving orderbook liquidity – targeting proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, family offices and high-frequency trading desks.
• Own the end-to-end sales cycle: prospecting, client engagement, product pitching, and coverage with clear targets.
• Proactively manage a pipeline of institutional counterparties, understanding their trading strategies (market-making, arbitrage, basis trading, directional speculation) and aligning our product offering to their needs.

Product Expertise & Client Advisory

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on our perpetual contract mechanics: funding rate calculations, marked price methodology, initial/maintenance margin requirements, leverage tiers, and liquidation processes.
• Educate clients on our unique value proposition – regulatory clarity, deep liquidity, institutional-grade custody, and competitive fee structures.
• Provide clients with market intelligence and trade ideas based on orderbook data, funding rate trends, and macro crypto market conditions.
• Feed competitive insights back to product/developing teams to refine our perpetual contract specifications, risk parameters, and stay ahead of regulatory developments across Asia.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with OTC trading desk, settlement operations, and client services teams to ensure seamless execution, clearing, and post-trade support.
• Collaborate with marketing and events teams to represent HashKey at industry conferences, webinars, and client roadshows across the Middle East and Asia.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related fields.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
• Derivatives sales or trading at a cryptocurrency exchange (perpetual/futures/options);
• Institutional sales at a traditional financial institution (FX/rates/equity/commodity derivatives sales or structuring);
• Market-making or proprietary trading with a derivatives focus.
• A hybrid knowledge base spanning:
• Regulated exchanges / broker-dealers – familiarity with compliance frameworks in different jurisdictions in Asia, market structure, and institutional-grade operations;
• Traditional finance (TradFi) trading – commodities, equities, or fixed income derivatives; Web3 / digital assets – deep understanding of crypto markets and the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and cultivating long-term institutional relationships.
• Established institutional client network across Asia – candidates must bring an existing client base capable of delivering immediate value and converting into sales KPIs from day one.
• Onshore market expertise – hands‑on sales experience in Hong Kong and/or Singapore is highly preferred, with a solid grasp of local institutional investor behavior, regulatory subtleties, and market conventions.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to rapidly convert prospects into active traders.

Technical & Analytical Capabilities

• Data-driven mindset – comfortable leveraging AI tools and data analytics to inform sales strategies and client targeting.
• Familiarity with FIX API, REST API trading, or algorithmic execution is a plus.

Languages

• English fluency is mandatory for business and legal documentation.
• Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred for covering Greater China clients and facilitating coordination with Hong Kong-based compliance and product teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

• Prior experience with CME Bitcoin futures/options or traditional derivatives markets (commodities/equities).
• Experience selling options or structured products in crypto or traditional markets.
