Job summary

Argyll Scott is seeking a senior data science leader in Hong Kong to define AI and analytics strategy, engage stakeholders, and prioritise a robust data science roadmap. The role requires guiding teams, reviewing models and Python code, and translating complex insights into business value across retail analytics initiatives.

Experience with LLMs/agentic AI, strong Python skills, and consulting or retail domain expertise are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data science with ML and statistics.
• Experience leading data science projects and guiding practitioners.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate needs into analytics use cases.
• Knowledge of LLMs and agentic AI and their practical applications.
• Proficient in Python, code review, and delivering quality results.
• Retail sector experience or consulting background is advantageous.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement.

Responsibilities

• Help define the AI and data science strategy and identify value opportunities.
• Engage stakeholders to translate needs into analytics use cases.
• Lead the development and prioritisation of a data science roadmap.
• Guide data scientists and review analytical approaches and code.
• Explain findings and model capabilities to support decision-making.
• Oversee tools supporting trading decisions and retail analytics use cases.
• Shape an agentic AI platform built on the enterprise data warehouse.
• Partner with ML engineering and data teams to productionise solutions.
