Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field required

Responsibilities

• Conduct market intelligence, research industry developments, and translate findings into strategic proposals
• Support formulation and review of corporate and business strategies and annual planning
• Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships and investments with financial and strategic analysis
• Drive execution of strategic initiatives and coordinate cross-functional projects
• Engage with senior management to present recommendations and secure buy-in

Our client is seeking a Manager – Strategic Business Development to join their team!

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Hong Kong's most respected property developers at a pivotal moment, as they establish a brand new strategic business development function. You will play a central role in shaping the company's growth agenda, working directly with senior leadership on high-impact initiatives across corporate strategy, business planning, and new business development.

What you'll be doing?

Market Intelligence & Research: Conduct in-depth research on industry developments, market dynamics, competitor activities, government policies, and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends, translating complex findings into clear and actionable strategic proposals.

Corporate Strategy Support: Support the formulation and review of the Group's corporate and business strategies, and assist in both annual business planning and long-term strategic planning exercises.

Business Opportunity Evaluation: Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investment proposals through rigorous commercial, financial, and strategic assessments, delivering data-driven insights to support management decision-making.

Strategic Initiative Execution: Drive the execution of approved strategic initiatives and business development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines while monitoring progress and facilitating issue resolution.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business units to translate strategic recommendations into actionable implementation plans, coordinating effectively across teams and functions.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong stakeholder relationships and secure organisational buy-in for key initiatives through effective communication, influence, and collaboration, including exposure to senior management discussions.

Who are they looking for?

Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is required, with an MBA or postgraduate qualification highly regarded.

Consulting or Strategy Experience: At least 2 years of experience gained from a top-tier or leading management consulting firm, or from a corporate strategy function, provides the strong foundation needed for this role.

Analytical & Financial Modelling Skills: Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities, combined with advanced financial modelling and business case development capabilities, are essential to succeed in this role.

Communication & Presentation: Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills are key, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.

Strategic & Entrepreneurial Mindset: An entrepreneurial outlook, coupled with solid project management skills and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities, will set the ideal candidate apart.

Cross-functional Exposure: Prior involvement in cross-functional initiatives and comfort engaging with senior management discussions will be highly valued.
