Job summary

Smith in Hong Kong seeks a qualified contracts professional to draft, review, and negotiate commercial, sales, and procurement agreements. You will work with internal teams to ensure terms align with policies and business goals while mitigating risks.

The role requires 3–5 years’ in-house experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset. Mandarin and English fluency are essential, with MS Office and contract management systems experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in contract negotiation, preferably with in-house experience.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, global and team-oriented environment while working independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance business needs and legal risk.

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial, sales, and procurement related contracts (i.e., terms and conditions of sale and purchase, non-disclosure agreements, framework, and quality agreements, etc.).

  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract versions, approvals, and execution status.
  • Provide guidance to business teams on contract interpretation and obligations.
  • Support process improvements in contract management and negotiation workflows.
  • Assist in developing contract templates, playbooks, and best practices for contract drafting and negotiation.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact effectively with multiple levels within an organization and across various jurisdictions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English and Mandarin.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with contract management systems is an advantage.
