Job summary

Smith is a leading independent distributor of electronic components seeking a senior accounting leader in Hong Kong to manage APAC finance operations and drive accurate month-end closes.

The role requires 15+ years of accounting experience and SAP proficiency, including 3+ years in team leadership within a multinational environment. You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure policy compliance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years of proven team leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP.
• Experience managing accounting for entities across APAC.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of supporting documents and prepare accounting vouchers.
• Process and review employee expense claims in accordance with company policies.
• Conduct freight charge audits and ensure proper cost allocation and documentation.
• Manage vendor master data, including vendor code creation and maintenance.
• Prepare and execute online banking transactions while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial reports.
• Support regional accounting operations for APAC entities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and external stakeholders on accounting-related matters.
• Perform general accounting duties and undertake ad hoc assignments as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of solid accounting experience, with at least 3 years of proven team leadership experience of leading the team, preferably in a multinational or regional environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP
