Job summary

DayOne Data Centers HK Limited is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning of complex data centre projects. You will manage reporting, ensure compliance with design, shop drawings, and specifications, and lead a team to deliver high-quality outcomes across regions.

You will supervise testing and commissioning results, coordinate with contractors, vendors, and operations, and drive continuous improvements to meet DayOne standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of DC experience in MEP/building services coordination or testing and commissioning.
• Experience at managerial level for at least 3 years.
• Strong knowledge of international hyperscaler T&C requirements.

Job Description

Maintain the role of a Commissioning Manager, representing DayOne for projects. Handles the provision of monthly and close out project reports to PDs and Project Managers. Technically responsible for delivery of service in accordance with DayOne and Client expectations. Manage compilation of technical reports and submission of status report, including progress update. Commissioning appraisal of design / shop drawing, specification and documents. Undertake progressive site inspections to identify commissioning related concerns. Witness and review contractor's testing and commissioning results and confirm compliance. Ensure works are carried out aligned with the Company procedures / industry codes. Oversee and review the works and deliverables produced by sub-ordinates. Assist in the development and implementation of the global commissioning program to meet the regional requirements while maintaining consistent quality and compliance across data centre projects. Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning strategies and methodologies aligned with industry best practices and company standards. Lead the commissioning program across multiple data centre projects within the region, coordinating activities between construction teams, vendors, and operations personnel. Create and manage detailed commissioning schedules, ensuring integration with the overall project timeline. Oversee testing and validation of critical systems including power distribution, cooling, fire protection, security, and IT infrastructure. Review and approve commissioning plans, test scripts, and completion documentation. Identify and mitigate risks to successful commissioning completion and facility handover. Manage commissioning resources, including internal teams and third-party vendors. Establish quality control processes to verify all systems meet basis of design and operational requirements. Drive continuous improvement of commissioning practices and procedures.

Requirements and Skills

• At least 12 years' solid DC experience in MEP systems, building services coordination and/or testing & commissioning process which at least 3 years should be at managerial level


• Familiar with key international hyperscaler T&C requirements and expectations


• Degree or above in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering or related discipline in engineering


• Good understanding of the testing & commissioning process, site installation and project management of MEP and building services field


• Hands-on knowledge of PC applications such as MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit


• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)


• Reliable and proactive working attitude


• Self-motivated with good initiatives as a team leader


• Good communication / interpersonal and negotiation skills to handle all stakeholders


• Candidates with lesser experience will be considered as a Commissioning Engineer
