Job summary

Cathay Pacific Group is seeking a senior FinOps specialist to bolster cloud cost management across the organisation. You will collaborate with cloud account owners, FinOps leads and stakeholders to monitor usage, analyse trends and drive cost transparency.

In this role you will support budgeting activities, evaluate pricing models, and recommend cost-optimisation strategies across AWS and Azure, helping optimise technology investments and financial governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in IT, CS, Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years IT experience including 3+ years in a relevant IT role.
• Experience in IT budgeting, financial management & TCO comparisons.
• Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
• Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud operations and cloud pricing models (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with costing, budgeting, billing and infrastructure reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of FinOps methodologies, frameworks and processes.
• Monitor cloud usage and spending, provide regular reporting and insights to stakeholders.
• Identify cost fluctuations and assist in re-forecasting with cloud owners.
• Execute FinOps Quality Management Framework focusing on cost transparency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote accountability for cloud spending.
• Analyse pricing models and billing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Utilise cost management tools to detect over/under-provisioned resources and advise fixes.
• Support cost improvement plans based on KPIs and ROI considerations.
• Assist with cloud spending forecasts and budget planning with cost owners.
