Job summary

PFCC Group in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and scale robust cloud infrastructure and platform services for regulated financial clients. You will bridge development, security and core infrastructure to ensure high availability and compliant deployments.

Expect hands-on work with AWS/Azure/GCP, Terraform IaC, Docker/Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8+ years of hands-on professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering within regulated environments.
• Production experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is required; cloud certifications are advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform and automation tooling; configuration management experience.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster management (EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Programming/scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and API integrations.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancers, firewalls) and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Lead IaC automation to ensure repeatable, auditable provisioning.
• Manage container workloads with Docker and Kubernetes; ensure autoscaling and high availability.
• Build and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) with automated testing and security gates.
• Implement security governance, IAM, and data residency controls in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with software, database, and cybersecurity teams; evaluate new tech and run PoCs.
• Monitor performance, set up alerting, and maintain architectural documentation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Intermediate to Senior/Senior Cloud Engineer to join our client, a premier regulatory financial institution in Hong Kong. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, automating, and scaling robust cloud infrastructure and platform services to power next-generation digital initiatives. You will act as a key technical bridge between application development, security, and core infrastructure teams, ensuring high system availability, strict regulatory compliance, and seamless deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture & Provisioning: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) to support enterprise-grade applications under the Diversified Technologies programme.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Spearhead environment automation using Terraform and modern IaC frameworks to ensure repeatable, consistent, and auditable resource provisioning.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Manage containerized application workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE), ensuring auto-scaling, high availability, and robust observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Build, optimize, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to accelerate software delivery cycles while enforcing automated testing and security guardrails.
• Security, Governance & Compliance: Implement rigorous security policies, identity and access management (IAM), data residency protocols, and zero-trust architectures aligned with financial sector regulatory standards.
• Technical Collaboration & R&D: Partner closely with software engineering, database, and cybersecurity teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, evaluate emerging technologies, and conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
• Operational Resilience: Monitor cloud performance, implement proactive alerting, execute disaster recovery drills, and maintain pristine architectural documentation.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: 4 to 8+ years of hands‑on professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, preferably within banking, financial services, or highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven production experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional) are highly advantageous.
• Core Technical Stack:
• IaC & Automation: Advanced proficiency in Terraform and configuration management.
• Containerization: Strong practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster management in production.
• Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation, tooling, and API integrations.
• CI/CD & Tooling: Extensive experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and artifact repositories.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancing, firewalls), hybrid cloud connectivity, and database management.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Cantonese or Mandarin proficiency is a strong plus.
