Job summary

The University of Hong Kong is seeking a Laboratory Manager (rank of Technical Manager) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine. The appointee will oversee a teaching laboratory for medical and health sciences, ensuring smooth operation for teaching and learning sessions and contributing to the development of a clinical simulation training centre.

Availability for shift work and weekends may be required. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in biomedical sciences or related

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences or related discipline.
• At least 8 years' work experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Appropriate IT proficiency; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Qualified first aider and must maintain status.
• Experience in handling equipment for clinical simulation training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a teaching laboratory for medical and health sciences students and professionals.
• Ensure operational readiness for diverse teaching and learning sessions.
• Assist in developing a state-of-the-art clinical simulation training centre within the laboratory.
• May be required to work in shifts and during weekends based on operational needs.
